February: Wed 17 7.30 for 8pm Special meeting at The Maltings, Alton.

Design with Plants, a talk by Chris Beardshaw.

 

February: Tues 23 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

E&HHC’s Green Night! Benefit your garden, recycle and reduce waste. Presentations on Composting, Composters, Digesters and Keyhole Gardens, followed by a Q&A panel. Panellists include speakers from East Hants District Council and Mr Robin Crittenden.

 

March: Tues 23 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

Spring Propagation – a talk by local expert Miss Judy Medhurst, now retired from the Liss Forest Nursery. Miss Medhurst will donate her fee to the Red Cross.

 

April: Sat 10  3pm at Hawkley Village Hall

Spring Show, when everyone is welcome. Exhibits by members should be in by 10am. Schedules will be out some weeks before.  

 

May: Sat 8, 10.30 – 11.30am at Yew Tree Cottage, Empshott Green

Bring & Buy Plant sale – bargains, plus tea, coffee and a raffle.

 

May: Tues 25 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

Friend and Foe – an illustrated talk on garden pests and diseases and some things of value in the garden, by Mr Geoff Hawkins, professional gardener, lecturer and broadcaster, returning by popular request.

 

June: Tues 22 or 29 7pm at Doscombe Cottage, Hawkley

Barbecue – our barbecue is always popular, so book early with Stella Savage or Mike Lanning

 

July: Sat 31 3pm, Hawkley Village Hall

Summer Show  - when again everyone is welcome. Exhibits by members should be in by 10am. Schedules will be out some weeks before.  

 

August: Tues 24 or 31 6pm Members make their own way.

Garden visit to a member’s garden, and a glass of wine.

 

Sept: Tues 21 Outing. Longstock Water Gardens, Stockbridge. Members make their own way.

 

Oct: Tues 28 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

AGM, followed by E&H HS’ own Gardeners’ Question Time. Chairman Mr Brian Mayo.

 

Nov: Tues 23 or 30 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

Garden & Plant Photography, a presentation using pictures taken at Wisley by Mr Mike Sleigh, with practical advice for amateur photographers.
