Growing and Showing to RHS 2008 regulations – A talk with reference to the new regulations by Mr James Duckham.

 

March: Tues 31 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

Sowing seeds - The Joy of Sex – an illustrated talk by Mr Geoff Hawkins, who is a professional gardener, lecturer and broadcaster.

 

April: Sat 4 3pm at Hawkley Village Hall

Spring Show, when everyone is welcome. Exhibits by members should be in by 10am. Schedules will be out some weeks before.

 

May: Sat 9 10.30 – 11.30 Yew Tree Cottage, Empshott Green

Bring & Buy Plant sale – bargains, plus tea, coffee and a raffle.

 

May: Tues 26 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

Effective Use of Colour – a talk by Mr John Negus (Dip Hort Wisley), a photo-journalist and broadcaster.

 

June: Tues 23 7pm at Doscombe Cottage, Hawkley . Map

Our 30th anniversary year Barbecue – our barbecue is always popular, so book early with Stella Savage or Mike Lanning

 

July: Sat 18 3pm, Hawkley Village Hall

Summer Show  - when again everyone is welcome. Exhibits by members should be in by 10am. Schedules will be out some weeks before.

 

August: Tues 25 6pm at Field House, Selborne. Map

Garden visit to a member’s garden, and a glass of wine.

Members make their own way.

 

Sept: Tues 22 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:  Map

AGM, followed by an AV presentation by Alton Camera Club: ‘In search of colour’, made in New England in The Fall.

 

Oct: Tues 27 Outing to RHS Wisley. Members make their own way. Further details from committee members, or look at the website nearer the date. Map

 

Nov: Tues 24 7.45pm at Hawkley Village Hall:

The Hindhead Tunnel – Protecting the Environment – a talk by Mr Ian Whyte of Balfour Beatty on the considerable efforts his company made to protect the environment before and during the ongoing construction.
